April
16 - 18 2004
All around the country, youth are coming together to make
their communities a better place by volunteering for
the National Youth Service Day, April 16-18, 2004!
Created by Youth Service America, National Youth Service
Day (NYSD) is the largest service event in the world, focusing
national attention on the amazing leadership of young people
and teens.
National Youth Service Day is also an opportunity to recruit
the next generation of volunteers while promoting the benefits
of youth service to the American public.
Youth Service America and more than 50 National Partners,
including Camp Fire USA, are participating in this years
event.
On National Youth Service Day, millions of young people will
carry out thousands of community improvement projects, youth
forums and celebration events. Projects range from serving
food in homeless shelters, tutoring children, sending care
packages to US military overseas and cleaning up rivers.
