Camp Fire's Commitment to Inclusivity
Camp Fire USA is open to every person in the United
States. We are an inclusive organization, open to all races,
religions, sexes and creeds, as shown through the national
inclusiveness statement that became effective March 1, 1992.
| Camp Fire USA works to realize the dignity and worth
of each individual and to eliminate human barriers based
on all assumptions which prejudge individuals. |
- Nationally established program standards reinforce this
commitment to inclusiveness. One of the five standards states,
"programs are designed and implemented to reduce sex-role,
racial and cultural stereotypes and to foster positive intercultural
relationships."
- Regardless of their origins or locations, all Camp Fire
programs follow nationally established standards, philosophy
and purpose in order to provide America's young people with
the knowledge, skills and tools they need to live happy
and confident lives.
- Camp Fire accepts leaders, volunteers, mentors and employees
who pass routine criminal record and background checks with
regard to previous work history and references, criminal
records checks and driving records.
Camp Fire USA-Samish Council prides itself on our inclusiveness,
commitment and being an organization that meets the needs
of all children, youth and their families.
