Camp Fire USA builds caring, confident youth and future
leaders.
Camp
Fire USA - Samish Council
youth programs offer rich development opportunities for children
and families as they engage in all-inclusive, coeducational
activities designed to develop self-esteem, decision-making
skills, responsibility to self and community and outdoor skills.
And to have fun!
Traditional Camp Fire
Clubs consist of 8-10 youth with two adult leaders who
meet regularly throughout the school year. Activities include
learning about self, family and community, exploring nature,
camping, community service projects, and arts and crafts.
Community and Family
Clubs - Community Clubs such as " Outdoor Discovery"
offer quality coeducational youth development programs for
larger groups of children and are typically led by several
adult and teen volunteers. Family Clubs also utilize the Camp
Fire USA curriculum but the concept involves the entire family
in Camp Fire USAs small group, asset-building activities
and experiences.
Teens In Action, a
teen service-learning program, is based on the idea that teens
are the key to the future and are making a difference in communities
nationwide. Teens in Action empowers teens to speak out and
stand up in their communities.
Self Reliance
courses teach self-confidence and responsibility. Exciting
programs teach young people how to handle threats to their
safety and security, take care of themselves in different
situations, and provide service to their communities
Outdoor Programs
include Day Camps in both Whatcom and Skagit counties, Resident
Camp at Camp Kirby on Samish Island, Environmental Programs
and more.
